Legal Fellow – South Asia (Remote)

About the role

Legal Action Worldwide (LAW) is seeking a motivated Legal Fellow to join its South Asia team. The fellowship is remote and focuses on the Myanmar/Rohingya crisis and Afghanistan, offering a unique chance to support frontline human‑rights litigation and advocacy in conflict‑affected contexts.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research on public international law (PIL) and international criminal law (ICL) relevant to victims of human‑rights violations.
• Assist in drafting policy briefs, advocacy materials, and strategic litigation documents.
• Support evidence‑gathering and documentation efforts for cases in Myanmar, Rohingya, and Afghanistan.
• Collaborate with survivors, civil‑society partners, and LAW’s legal team to ensure survivor‑centered, gender‑competent approaches.

Required profile

• Law student or recent graduate eligible for academic credit.
• Demonstrated interest in human‑rights law, international criminal law, or related fields.
• Ability to secure external funding or university credit for the fellowship.
• Strong analytical and writing skills in English.
