Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Counsel to join our team in Chennai. The role will support SES and its affiliates by providing comprehensive legal services across contracts, tenders, and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with national and international laws.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate and finalize contracts and tender responses, guaranteeing legal compliance.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on topics such as competition law.
• Advise SES subsidiaries and affiliates on a wide range of legal issues.
• Support transactional work and provide legal guidance to commercial teams on projects, bids and public‑private partnership initiatives.
• Communicate clearly and diplomatically with stakeholders at all organisational levels.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or LLM in law; bar qualification is a plus.
• 3‑5 years of post‑qualification experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Experience in the telecommunications or media sector is advantageous.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
