Legal Counsel – Immigration & Commercial Law (India)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our India‑based delivery centre and support UK business operations. The role blends immigration law, commercial contracting, workforce compliance, and legal‑tech innovation, acting as a key partner for UK leadership and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage UK immigration and sponsorship compliance, including Certificate of Sponsorship reviews and Skilled Worker visa documentation.
• Support end‑to‑end visa processes across multiple routes (Skilled Worker, Global Business Mobility, Graduate).
• Review security clearance applications for UK government projects.
• Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, subcontracting agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Maintain contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, amendments, and contract registers.
• Ensure workforce compliance such as IR35 assessments and contractor onboarding.
• Collaborate with HR, finance, and recruitment teams for compliant onboarding.
• Contribute to AI‑driven legal product testing by designing test cases and providing structured feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) with enrollment in the Bar Council of India or equivalent.
• 3‑5 years post‑qualification experience in commercial law, immigration law, or in‑house legal operations.
• Strong working knowledge of UK immigration law and sponsor compliance obligations.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating NDAs and commercial agreements.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
