Lead Software Engineer (Mainframe Testing)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive quality engineering for cloud‑native payment applications. The role focuses on mainframe, web, mobile and API testing, and requires hands‑on development of automated test frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Champion best‑in‑class testing practices for cloud‑native applications, adhering to 12‑factor principles.
• Design, develop, and execute test automation for Digital Native Architecture (DNA) based solutions.
• Build and maintain automated test suites covering GUI, service‑layer, unit, functional, integration and regression testing.
• Collaborate with developers to translate user stories into comprehensive test scenarios.
• Lead quality‑gating reviews, exploratory testing, and continuous‑integration pipelines for core payments products such as authorization, clearing and debit.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 12+ years of professional experience in software quality engineering.
• Proven experience in payments domain testing.
• Hands‑on experience across mainframe, web, mobile UI and API (REST/SOAP) testing.
• Solid understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and ability to author test plans, cases and execute them.
