Lead Software Engineer (Java)

About the role

Zafin, an AI platform company serving regulated financial institutions, is looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Java) to act as a technical lead reporting to the Senior Product Architect. The role blends software engineering, delivery, and client advocacy, ensuring solutions meet design specifications and delivery schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and deliver enterprise‑grade software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka and PostgreSQL.
• Lead technical tasks from requirements gathering through deployment, ensuring quality through testing, peer reviews and coding standards.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, translating business objectives into technical designs and conducting workshops and demos.
• Collaborate with product, architecture and delivery teams to align implementations with platform strategy and share best‑practice patterns.
• Provide post‑implementation support, monitor production performance and coordinate with operations to maintain uptime.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Technical Consultant or Customer Engineer, preferably in SaaS or banking technology implementations.
• Proven ability to deliver end‑to‑end solutions in Java‑based ecosystems and to manage client‑facing technical discussions.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments (Scrum, TDD/BDD) and troubleshooting distributed systems.
