Lead Full Stack Web Applications Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Lead Full Stack Web Applications Engineer to drive the design, architecture, and delivery of modern, scalable, and secure web platforms. You will work closely with product, UX, data, and DevOps teams to create high‑impact applications while mentoring engineers and championing engineering excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end solution design, architecture, and implementation using Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python (Django/Django REST Framework).
• Develop front‑end solutions with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Define system boundaries, API contracts, data models, and non‑functional requirements such as availability, latency, scalability, resilience, and security.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, including code quality, branching strategies, peer reviews, documentation, observability, and secure coding practices.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams, set technical direction, and promote best practices across the full stack.

Required profile

• Proven technical leadership experience in full‑stack web development.
• Strong architectural skills with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and mentor engineers.
