Lead Engineer

About the role

Foodhub is seeking a skilled Mobile Application Developer to design, develop, test, and deploy high‑quality cross‑platform mobile applications using React Native and TypeScript for iOS and Android. The role will leverage modern AI coding assistants to accelerate delivery while maintaining rigorous quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and release cross‑platform mobile apps with React Native and TypeScript.
• Own feature delivery end‑to‑end, from technical design through release, monitoring and post‑launch iteration.
• Translate product requirements into clear technical specifications and design documents.
• Influence mobile architecture, including state management, navigation, offline behavior, modularization and native bridges.
• Work with React Native New Architecture (Fabric, TurboModules, JSI) and Hermes for performance optimisation.
• Build and maintain reusable component libraries shared across Foodhub brands.
• Develop native modules in Swift and Kotlin and resolve build issues in Xcode and Android Studio.
• Optimise bundle size, startup time, frame rates, memory usage and crash rates.
• Implement automated testing with Jest, React Native Testing Library and end‑to‑end frameworks such as Detox or Maestro.
• Maintain and improve mobile CI/CD pipelines using Fastlane, EAS Build, App Center or equivalents.
• Lead code reviews focusing on quality, security, accessibility and maintainability.
• Establish AI context configurations and coding‑standards documentation.
• Mentor mid‑level and junior engineers on React Native, TypeScript and responsible AI tool usage.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering production‑grade React Native applications for iOS and Android.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to drive features from concept to production.
• Excellent collaboration skills with product, design, backend, QA and EPOS teams.
• Experience guiding and mentoring junior engineers.
• Comfortable using AI‑assisted development tools while adhering to coding standards.
