Lead Data Scientist – Marketing (Hybrid)

About the role

Bluevine is building a cutting‑edge data science team in India and seeks a Lead Data Scientist with a strong focus on marketing analytics and campaign modeling. In this hybrid position you will design predictive response and approval models, analyse match‑back values and partner with marketing to optimise direct‑mail and paid‑media initiatives, driving acquisition growth for the company’s small‑business banking platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build response models to predict customer engagement with campaigns.
• Develop approval models estimating the probability of lead approval for financial products.
• Analyse match‑back calculations to support direct‑mail and paid‑media decisions.
• Partner with marketing to design experiments, define KPIs and measure campaign effectiveness.
• Conduct deep‑dive analyses of mail and digital campaigns to extract actionable insights.
• Implement production‑ready models using software‑engineering best practices and monitor performance over time.
• Collaborate with global stakeholders across Data Science, Marketing, Risk, Product and Engineering.

Required profile

• 8+ years of data‑science experience focused on marketing, growth or customer acquisition.
• Proven track record developing and deploying predictive models for marketing use cases.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present findings to non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Python and machine‑learning libraries (Scikit‑learn, XGBoost, PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Advanced SQL and experience with large‑scale relational databases.
• Statistical testing, experiment design and campaign performance analysis.
• MLOps experience in the AWS ecosystem and workflow tools such as Apache Airflow.
