Lead Arborist

About the role

The Lead Arborist will oversee advanced arboricultural work, ensuring safe and efficient tree care across a variety of canopy sizes. This position requires expert climbing techniques, precise pruning, and the ability to manage complex rigging and rescue operations.

Key responsibilities

• Ascend and work aloft safely using SRS, MRS, and traditional climbing methods.
• Perform hazard tree removal, including spur‑assisted techniques.
• Prune trees to International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) standards.
• Operate aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws with high care.
• Execute technical rigging, aerial rescues, and install static/dynamic cabling and bracing systems.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of industry experience.
• Post‑secondary education related to arboriculture.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Relevant certifications such as ISA Certified Arborist, Ontario Certified Arborist, or Utility Arborist 444B.
