Lead Arborist

About the role

The Lead Arborist will oversee advanced tree care operations, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards while working directly with clients and crew members.

Key responsibilities

• Perform modern arboricultural practices at a senior level.
• Climb and work safely in tree canopies of any size using SRS, MRS and traditional methods.
• Execute spur‑assisted hazard tree removal and prune trees to ISA standards.
• Operate aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers and chainsaws with precision.
• Conduct technical rigging for large limb and tree removal and perform aerial rescues when required.
• Install static and dynamic cabling and bracing systems.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and proper PPE usage.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate clearly with clients.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of arboriculture experience.
• Post‑secondary education related to arboriculture.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Working at Heights, WHMIS and First Aid certifications.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Ontario Certified Arborist (asset).
• Additional assets: 0‑8 tonne crane competency, Utility Arborist 444A/444B, IHSA Line Clearing Safety, D licence with Z endorsement.
