Lead Arborist

About the role

The Lead Arborist will oversee advanced tree care operations, ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction across all projects. This senior position requires expert knowledge of modern arboricultural practices and the ability to lead a team in complex canopy work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform high‑level arboricultural tasks, including pruning to ISA standards and hazard tree removal.
• Climb and work safely in tree canopies of any size using SRS, MRS, and traditional methods.
• Operate aerial lifts, brush chippers, stumpers, and chainsaws with precision.
• Execute technical rigging for large limb and tree removal, and conduct aerial rescues when needed.
• Install static and dynamic cabling and bracing systems.
• Model safe work practices and proper PPE usage.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and clients, fostering teamwork.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of arboriculture experience.
• Post‑secondary education in arboriculture or a related field.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean abstract.
• Working at Heights, WHMIS and First Aid certifications.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Ontario Certified Arborist (asset).
• Additional assets: 0‑8 tonne crane competency, Utility Arborist 444B, IHSA Line Clearing Safety, D licence with Z endorsement.
