About the role
The Labour Welfare Officer will ensure statutory compliance, promote employee welfare, and maintain harmonious industrial relations at Coats' manufacturing plant in Madurai. The role focuses on implementing welfare initiatives, addressing employee concerns, and upholding applicable labour laws.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labour laws (Factories Act, Industrial Disputes Act, Shops & Establishments Act, etc.).
- Liaise with government authorities, inspectors, and regulatory bodies; maintain statutory registers, records, and filings.
- Plan and implement employee welfare initiatives such as health camps, engagement activities, and grievance redressal mechanisms.
- Monitor working conditions, hygiene, safety, and amenities; address employee concerns promptly.
- Maintain healthy industrial relations, support disciplinary matters, and assist in negotiations and conflict resolution.
- Oversee canteen, transport, sanitation, and other welfare facilities; ensure contractor compliance with labour laws.
- Monitor attendance, working hours, and overtime compliance.
- Prepare reports on welfare activities, compliance status, and industrial relations matters; maintain accurate employee records.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- Degree/Diploma in Labour Welfare, Social Work, or Personnel Management.
- 3‑4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setup.
