Kitchen Commis – Indian Cuisine at ibis Thane

About the role

We are looking for a Kitchen Commis to support the Indian cuisine station at ibis Thane. You will work in a fast‑paced hotel kitchen, ensuring daily preparation and smooth operation of the food production area.

Key responsibilities

• Stock the kitchen with raw materials and ingredients each day.
• Operate electrical and mechanical kitchen equipment safely.
• Perform basic cooking techniques, cut ingredients and prepare daily mise‑en‑place for the assigned station.
• Prepare dishes according to standard recipe cards, maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.
• Apply HACCP food safety and hygiene standards.
• Clean and maintain all equipment in the production area.
• Report any hazards, unsafe conditions or equipment issues to the supervisor.
• Follow hotel fire and life‑safety procedures and attend briefings, meetings and trainings.
• Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
• Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Minimum primary school education.
• At least 1 year of relevant kitchen experience.
• Oral proficiency in English.
• Results‑oriented, detail‑focused and able to work well in a team.
• Self‑starter with the ability to motivate others.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
