Junior Baggage Screening Officer

About the role

Adani Airports is seeking a Junior Officer to join its hold‑baggage screening team. The role ensures safe and efficient screening of checked luggage, complying with all aviation security regulations while maintaining a high level of passenger service.

Key responsibilities

• Operate X‑BIS equipment to detect dangerous goods, prohibited items, weapons, or ammunition in check‑in baggage.
• Perform physical inspections and ETD tests on bags flagged by X‑ray screening.
• Maintain strong Threat Image Projection (TIP) scores through accurate image interpretation.
• Follow BCAS and DGCA guidelines, recording all findings for audit purposes.
• Conduct routine pre‑operational checks of X‑BIS, ETD, CT‑EDS and other security equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions and assist in maintaining operational registers.
• Collaborate with CISF and airline staff during inspections and resolution of suspicious items.
• Provide timely updates to supervisors and manage screening workflow efficiently.

Required profile

• Completed all mandatory regulatory trainings and certifications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with passengers and security personnel.
• Commitment to maintaining compliance with aviation security directives.
