Junior Analyst – Private Equity Intelligence News

About the role

Gain is looking for a Junior Analyst to join its Private Equity Intelligence News team. You will help identify and track M&A activity and ownership changes, supporting the platform’s high‑quality deal data.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor financial news sources, press releases and market data to spot new M&A transactions and ownership changes, initially focused on the US.
• Research, validate and document deals such as VC fund raises, PE buyouts and strategic acquisitions.
• Enter and analyse deal information in the Gain platform, maintaining data quality and consistency.
• Perform routine checks to ensure timely updates and accuracy of information.
• Support initiatives to improve workflow efficiency and collaborate with senior News Associates.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business or a quantitative discipline.
• Internship or up to six months of experience in news and research using financial database platforms.
• Strong interest in private equity and investment banking.
• Excellent communication skills and a bias toward action.

Required skills

• Experience with Pitchbook, Preqin, FactSet, Bloomberg or Capital IQ.
