Internal Auditor

About the role

Chegg is seeking an Internal Auditor to bridge IT and business controls, strengthening our compliance and risk environment. You will play a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and supporting the company’s growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and drive compliance of the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements, focusing on IT general controls, application controls, and information produced by entity (IPE) for Corporate Accounting.
• Conduct testing of business and IT controls and partner with Finance, Engineering, and cross‑functional teams to define scope, objectives, testing approach, and deficiency evaluation.
• Educate and consult process and control owners on effective IT control environments, providing recommendations on ITGCs, application controls, and IPE, and oversee remediation of audit issues.
• Assess risks arising from system changes, automation, business growth, and international expansion that impact financial statements and disclosures.
• Monitor and identify process and system changes related to transaction volume, acquisitions, and software updates.
• Review audit workpapers, collaborate with external auditors, and support additional IT audit engagements as requested by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in SOX, IT Audit, or Public Accounting (Big 4 preferred).
• Strong knowledge of SOX 404 and PCAOB standards.
• Experience with IT systems, application controls, and financial processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
