Internal Auditor

About the role

Chegg is seeking an Internal Auditor to bridge IT and business controls, strengthening the company’s compliance and risk environment. You will work closely with Finance, Engineering and cross‑functional teams to ensure robust internal controls over financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and drive compliance of the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) requirements, focusing on IT general controls, application controls and information produced by entity (IPE) for Corporate Accounting.
• Design and execute testing of business and IT controls, defining scope, objectives, testing approach and evaluating deficiencies.
• Partner with Finance, Engineering and other stakeholders to communicate methodology and remediation plans.
• Educate process and control owners on effective IT control environments, providing recommendations on ITGCs, application controls and IPE.
• Assess risks arising from system changes, automation, growth, international expansion and acquisitions that impact financial statements.
• Monitor and identify process or system changes that affect transaction volume and disclosures.
• Review audit workpapers and collaborate with external auditors as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in SOX/IT Audit or public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
• Strong knowledge of SOX 404 and PCAOB standards.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
