Interior Cockpit Lead Engineer

About the role

The Interior Cockpit Lead Engineer will drive the development and validation of vehicle interior cockpit systems, ensuring cross‑functional collaboration and adherence to quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and run engineering cockpit (IP & Console) system meetings with appropriate cross‑functional representation.
• Guide design quality maturity from concept to final engineering sign‑off (FESO).
• Define engineering targets aligned with vehicle program requirements.
• Develop and maintain the Design Validation Plan (DVP) covering in‑house and supplier testing.
• Create and manage System Design Specifications, test procedures, and material specifications.
• Lead failure mode avoidance activities including DFMEA, DFA/DFM reviews, and quality history analysis.
• Ensure documentation complies with ISO and JLR quality standards.
• Resolve design, attribute, or packaging incompatibilities through cross‑functional meetings.
• Manage suppliers to meet delivery timing and attribute targets, supporting purchasing in sourcing and RFQ activities.
• Support vehicle launch and pre‑production builds, applying APQP processes and delivering PSW.

Required profile

• Graduation or post‑graduation in Engineering (automotive preferred).
• 6–12 years of relevant experience in vehicle interior or cockpit system development.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects.
• Strong understanding of ISO, JLR quality standards, and APQP methodology.
