Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

About the role

ExxonMobil is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to support operations and maintenance across its upstream, midstream and downstream facilities. The role focuses on ensuring safety, availability and reliability of instrumentation systems while optimizing costs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide troubleshooting and reliability improvements for manufacturing facilities in upstream, midstream and downstream business units.
• Develop and execute instrument surveillance programs to monitor performance.
• Collect and analyse data from Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other sources.
• Calculate instrument failure rates, availability and reliability metrics.
• Identify bad‑actor equipment and failure modes to drive corrective actions.

Required profile

• Experience in instrumentation and controls engineering within oil & gas or related industrial environments.
• Proven ability to improve reliability and safety of instrumentation systems.
