Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Linux System and Networking Administrator with strong virtualization expertise to maintain and evolve our enterprise infrastructure. The role involves managing Linux servers, virtual environments, and ensuring secure, high‑performance network operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Linux servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) in both physical and virtual settings.
• Administer web, database, file and directory services such as Apache/Nginx, MySQL/PostgreSQL, Samba and LDAP.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Ansible or Python.
• Manage Proxmox VE and VMware vCenter/ESXi environments, including provisioning, cloning, snapshotting and resource optimisation.
• Design, configure and support LAN/WAN networks, VLANs, routing, trunking and link aggregation.
• Maintain firewalls (pfSense, iptables, FortiGate) and VPN solutions (OpenVPN, WireGuard).
• Monitor network performance with tools like tcpdump, Wireshark and NetFlow, and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform security hardening, patching, audits and manage IDS/IPS solutions.
• Provide tier‑2/3 support and document infrastructure, diagrams and SOPs.

Required profile

• 3–5+ years of Linux system administration and networking experience.
• 3+ years managing Proxmox or VMware vCenter environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs and routing protocols.
• Hands‑on experience with firewalls and VPN technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting/automation (Bash, Ansible, Python).
