Infection Control Nurse

About the role

The Infection Control Nurse (ICN) will support the Infection Control team in a hospital setting, focusing on training staff and implementing infection prevention protocols. This role is essential for maintaining safe patient care and reducing healthcare‑associated infections.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the IC team in daily operations and hospital infection control activities.
• Provide basic training to healthcare workers on infection prevention and control (IPC) practices.
• Implement and update infection control policies and the HIC manual.
• Conduct surveillance rounds, audits, and corrective actions, including gap analysis, RCA and CAPA.
• Monitor quality indicators such as CAUTI, CLABSI, VAP, SSI and antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
• Support project teams with baseline assessments, action‑plan development, and reporting for IPC and antimicrobial stewardship (AMS).

Required profile

• Nursing graduate or postgraduate (MSc/BSc) with experience in infection control or antimicrobial stewardship.
• Strong knowledge of infection control principles and AMS.
• Ability to train and coordinate with healthcare workers.
• Experience conducting audits, surveillance rounds and preparing reports.
