Industrial Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

The Industrial Cyber Security Engineer will design, develop, implement and maintain cyber security solutions for Siemens Energy’s industrial instrumentation and control systems. You will apply mathematical modelling and control theory to ensure systems operate securely and reliably across OT environments.

Key responsibilities

• Clarify technical interfaces with customers and internal project teams.
• Design architecture, components and mechanisms for cyber security solutions.
• Make decisions on security‑related issues and ensure compliance with best industry practices.
• Implement Siemens cyber security solutions on‑site and remotely.
• Prepare and maintain cyber security documentation for customers.
• Conduct risk and threat analyses and uphold security procedures and philosophies.
• Support Product & Solution Security as the key contact for cyber security in projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cyber security projects or network administration.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems (OT) and related standards.
• Familiarity with national and international cyber security regulations (CRA, EU Regulation 2023/1230, IEC 62443, ISA‑99, NIST SP 800‑82).
• Relevant certifications such as GICSP or CISSP are preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 10 % and ability to collaborate across a global organisation.

• Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and EU Regulation 2023/1230 compliance.
• Implementation of Siemens cyber security solutions.
• Risk and threat analysis for OT environments.
• Development of cyber security policies and procedures.
• IT network security controls: firewalls, routers, Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS).
• OT security controls and deep understanding of IT‑OT convergence.
