Immediate Opening: Diamond & Gemology Faculty

About the role

IIG South is seeking a full‑time, on‑site faculty member to teach diamond grading and gemstone identification to students in Bengaluru. The role combines classroom instruction, laboratory supervision and mentorship to prepare learners for careers in the gems and jewellery sector.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct classroom and laboratory sessions on diamond grading, gemstone identification and related gemology topics.
• Prepare lesson plans, develop teaching materials and create/evaluate assignments and examinations.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
• Mentor students on academic pathways and career opportunities.
• Supervise hands‑on training using industry tools and support study tours, workshops and industry events.
• Collaborate with the academic team to update curricula, align courses with current industry standards and improve teaching methodologies.

Required profile

• Formal education or certification in Gemology, Diamond Grading or Jewellery Design from a recognized institute.
• Teaching or training experience in gems and jewellery, or significant industry experience that can be translated into classroom learning.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; additional regional language skills are a plus.
• Commitment to learner‑centered teaching, ethical industry practices and continuous professional development.
• Ability to use basic digital tools for presentations, online resources and academic documentation.
