Human Resource Manager – Hotel

About the role

The Holiday Inn Chennai is seeking a proactive Human Resource Manager to shape a positive culture and empower its team. You will lead HR programmes that support staff development, ensure compliance, and enhance the guest experience through motivated employees.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain programmes that foster a supportive work environment.
• Administer the annual employee satisfaction survey and analyse results.
• Provide HR training to managers to boost productivity and performance.
• Conduct new‑hire orientation and keep personnel files up to date.
• Ensure hiring practices comply with company standards and local employment laws.
• Assist in budgeting for the HR department and monitor staffing costs.
• Develop initiatives that inspire staff to deliver memorable guest experiences.
• Engage with guests to gather feedback that can improve service delivery.
• Promote the hotel’s brand within the local community and encourage staff involvement.
• Carry out HR compliance audits and manage employee‑relations issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional HR‑related coursework preferred.
• At least 2 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, often as the sole HR professional on site.

Required skills

• Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Experience with employee surveys, orientation programmes, and HR record‑keeping.
• Budgeting and cost‑control capabilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills for coaching managers and interacting with guests.
