HSE Manager

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated HSE Manager to lead and manage all aspects of Health, Safety, and Environmental performance across Hitachi Energy India Limited. The role is critical for ensuring compliance with national and international regulations, fostering a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems, policies, and procedures aligned with Hitachi Energy standards and Indian regulations.
• Conduct regular HSE risk assessments, audits, and inspections, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and develop preventive measures.
• Ensure employees and contractors receive appropriate HSE training and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Monitor and report HSE performance metrics, recommend strategic improvements, and manage emergency response plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering or related field (Master’s a plus).
• Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH Diploma, CSP or CHMM.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive HSE experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within energy, manufacturing or heavy industry.
• In‑depth knowledge of Indian HSE legislation (Factories Act, Environmental Protection Act) and ISO standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Indian HSE legislation and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
• Expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation and emergency response planning.
