HR Advisor (US Operations)

About the role

ICON plc is seeking an experienced HR Advisor to lead compliance programs for its United States and Canadian operations. The role ensures adherence to federal, state, provincial and local employment regulations, supporting the company’s mission to advance clinical development.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate HR compliance programs across the US and Canada.
• Prepare and submit government reports such as AAP, EEO‑1, VETS‑4212, OFCCP certifications, state pay equity filings and Medicare Part D disclosures.
• Support pay‑equity reporting for Quebec, Ontario, British Columbia, California and Illinois.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the organization.
• Ensure compliance with FLSA, I‑9 verification, employee self‑identification and posting requirements.
• Update employee handbooks, policies, onboarding/off‑boarding notices and benefits communications.
• Coordinate mandatory training programs, including harassment prevention.
• Partner with Legal and HR leadership on audits, investigations and litigation requests.
• Respond to client RFIs related to HR compliance and maintain compliance calendars and audit‑ready records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in HR compliance, operations or employment law.
• Strong knowledge of US federal and state employment laws (OFCCP, EEOC, FLSA, I‑9) and Canadian provincial pay‑equity legislation.
• Experience preparing government compliance reports and regulatory filings.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills.
