Head of HR Services – India

About the role

The Head of HR Services for India will lead all HR Services activities for BASF's Service Delivery Unit. This senior position is responsible for strategic and operational HR services, covering transactional, strategic and platform‑based functions such as HR operations, HRIS, payroll interfaces, service management, case resolution and vendor management.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end HR Services delivery for the SDU, ensuring consistent, high‑quality service through defined SLAs and KPIs.
• Design, implement and optimise standardized, scalable HR processes and operating procedures aligned with global HR policies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation, RPA and workflow redesign, to increase efficiency and reduce error rates.
• Champion adoption of HR technology, self‑service portals and automation, overseeing reporting and analytics for service performance and data quality.
• Manage relationships with external service providers (payroll vendors, benefits administrators, IT vendors, recruitment shared services) and ensure contractual SLAs are met.
• Coordinate with global HR Centres of Excellence and regional HR Business Partners to ensure seamless handoffs and aligned service models.
• Define, monitor and report on KPIs and SLAs to support performance management.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading HR services or HR operations in a large, multinational environment.
• Strong capability to manage vendor relationships and ensure service‑level compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to drive process optimisation and automation initiatives.
