Head of Finance

About the role

We are looking for a Head of Finance to build and own the finance function end‑to‑end. Reporting to the CEO, you will manage monthly close, due‑diligence data rooms and partner closely with engineering on cost management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead controllership: monthly close within 15 days, revenue recognition for usage‑based plans, statutory audit, AR and collections.
• Manage multi‑entity finance across US and India, including intercompany, transfer pricing and consolidation.
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, ROC/MCA, FEMA, RBI filings and ESOP administration.
• Partner with platform team on gross‑margin engineering, cloud spend and cost per ingested GB.
• Drive FP&A: annual operating plan, rolling forecast, MIS for functional leaders.
• Oversee cash and treasury: 13‑week cash flow, runway, USD/INR exposure and banking.
• Implement ERP, billing operations, expense management, procurement approvals and internal controls to replace spreadsheets.
• Build and scale a high‑leverage finance team as the business grows.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant with 8–12 years post‑qualification experience.
• Hands‑on ownership of monthly close and statutory audit.
• Built financial models from operating drivers and learned from outcomes.
• Fluent in Indian startup compliance: GST, TDS, ROC, FEMA, ESOP taxation.
• Comfortable delivering defensible answers with messy, incomplete data.
• Strong communicator able to explain margin issues to engineers and burn scenarios to the board.
