Guest Relations Associate – Front Office

About the role

The Guest Relations Associate works at the front desk of a Westin hotel, delivering a warm welcome and seamless service to all guests. This full‑time position ensures smooth check‑ins, check‑outs, and addresses guest requests while maintaining accurate records.

Key responsibilities

• Process guest check‑ins, check‑outs, room assignments, late‑check‑out and room‑change requests.
• Secure payments, activate or re‑issue room keys, and verify billing accuracy.
• Communicate room availability to guests and coordinate with housekeeping on room status.
• Answer, record and follow up on all guest calls, requests, and concerns.
• Arrange transportation, provide directions and local information.
• Handle cash, checks, vouchers and credit‑card authorizations, and balance the cash drawer each shift.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and run daily reports.
• Notify loss‑prevention/security of any theft or safety incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods and lift objects up to 10 lb.
• Professional appearance, clear communication and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Operating telephone switchboard and handling guest calls.
• Cash handling and processing multiple payment types.
• Using a hotel property‑management system to update room status and billing.
