General Manager – Retail Operations (India)

About the role

Gucci is seeking a General Manager to lead its directly‑operated retail network across India. The role combines operational oversight, financial stewardship and brand alignment to drive growth and deliver an exceptional luxury experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a network of directly‑operated stores, overseeing retail and office functions and ensuring alignment with brand fundamentals.
• Drive financial performance by leveraging all P&L levers to meet yearly revenue and cost targets.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Gucci’s EMEA headquarters and the Indian market, implementing brand strategy and corporate priorities.
• Provide market intelligence, monitor consumer trends and competitive positioning, and feed insights back to corporate teams.
• Enhance customer experience by engaging VIP clientele and implementing Retail Excellence initiatives.
• Lead, coach and develop local teams, fostering a high‑performance, customer‑oriented culture.
• Identify, recruit and develop top talent, overseeing training and internal mobility programs.
• Analyse the retail footprint, optimise under‑performing locations and manage new store openings and landlord relationships.

Required profile

• Proven track record in leading a sophisticated, customer‑focused retail organization.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing full P&L responsibility.
• Excellent leadership and people‑development skills.
• Ability to translate global brand strategy into local execution.
• Experience in luxury retail and managing relationships with landlords and business partners.
