General Duty Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated General Duty Assistant to join our team at Hospital Home Care Services in Salem. This full‑time, on‑site position involves providing compassionate support to patients in their homes, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the day.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Support mobility by helping patients move safely and using assistive devices.
• Monitor and encourage proper nutrition and fluid intake.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
• Observe patients’ condition and promptly report any concerns to supervisors.

Required profile

• Basic caregiving experience, including assistance with mobility and hygiene.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding setting, including lifting and moving patients.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Attention to detail and observant nature to notice changes in patient well‑being.
• Empathy, patience, and a commitment to high‑quality care.
• First‑aid or basic life‑support certification is desirable.
