GCP Architect

About the role

The Enterprise/Cloud Architect will lead the migration of a large, stateful monolithic Java application to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will be responsible for preserving functional and non‑functional behavior while redesigning session management, service discovery and high‑availability architecture in the cloud.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and execute the migration of a tightly coupled monolithic application to GCP.
• Design, implement and validate Java RMI/QDRMI connectivity on GCP, ensuring reliable client‑server communication.
• Manage cache solutions using Redis or Valkey.
• Implement DNS‑based service discovery to replace fixed‑IP dependencies and design routing strategies.
• Ensure stateful session continuity across GKE pods, handling instance restarts and rescheduling.
• Validate binary protocol compatibility between on‑premise clients and cloud‑hosted services.
• Collaborate with application, network and platform teams to resolve latency, connectivity and session‑management issues.
• Define architectural guardrails, patterns and best practices for stateful workloads on GCP.

Required profile

• 12–15+ years of experience in enterprise or cloud architecture.
• Proven track record with stateful, high‑availability systems and large‑scale migrations.
• Hands‑on experience with GCP, GKE and legacy system modernization.
• Strong stakeholder communication and technical leadership abilities.
