Full Stack Software Engineer – YouTube

About the role

Google’s YouTube team is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to build user‑facing systems that scale to billions of users. You will work on both back‑end services and front‑end interfaces, collaborating across product, design, and infrastructure teams.

Key responsibilities

• Write production‑grade code for back‑end services (Java, Python, Golang, or C++) and front‑end components (JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
• Participate in design reviews and help choose technologies that meet product goals.
• Review peer code, enforce style guidelines, and ensure testability and performance.
• Maintain and update documentation or educational content as product features evolve.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve system issues impacting hardware, network, or service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience, or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of full‑stack development experience covering back‑end and front‑end technologies.
• Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or related field, strong data‑structures and algorithms knowledge, and experience building LLM‑based user‑facing systems.
