Frontend Engineer – Build AI Interfaces for Low‑Bandwidth Environments

About the role

These are not form‑and‑table frontend roles. The frontend engineers at Sarvam build the user interfaces that sit on top of the company’s AI stack and operate in demanding, offline‑first, low‑bandwidth client environments across India.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build performant, production‑grade frontend interfaces for strategic AI use cases such as geospatial overlays, simulation UIs, natural language access layers, ontology viewers, and data ingestion dashboards.
• Own the end‑to‑end development of “atoms” – reusable, deployable product components – from architecture through deployment in client‑embedded environments.
• Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers and deployment teams to ship complete, scoped atoms to real users.
• Implement offline‑first, low‑bandwidth, and limited‑hardware optimisations, including bundle optimisation, lazy loading and rendering performance.
• Contribute to shared frontend infrastructure, including component libraries, design systems and state‑management patterns.

Required profile

• 3–6 years of experience delivering production‑grade frontend products.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript and modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind.
• Experience with state‑management solutions like Zustand or Redux Toolkit and async data handling.
• Hands‑on experience building data visualisations (e.g., D3.js, Mapbox/Leaflet, Deck.gl, Recharts) in production.
• Ability to integrate REST and WebSocket APIs and debug across backend boundaries.
