Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at DevRev you will partner with the Customer Experience team to design and deliver AI‑enabled solutions that extend the DevRev platform into customers’ existing tech stacks. You will build integrations, knowledge graphs and AI agents that automate workflows and provide real‑time insights.

Key responsibilities

• Work directly with customers (≈80% of time) to understand their processes and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design, develop and launch AI agents, integrations and automations using TypeScript, JavaScript, Python and optionally Go.
• Connect DevRev with SaaS and non‑SaaS systems via APIs, webhooks, REST, GraphQL and event‑driven architectures.
• Apply prompt engineering, fine‑tune semantic search and use generative AI techniques to improve agent accuracy.
• Write SQL queries, perform data analysis and build dashboards that surface actionable insights.
• Produce rapid proofs‑of‑concept, deliver live technical demos and iterate based on feedback.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, customer success and revenue teams to ensure alignment.
• Travel up to 80% for on‑site implementations, workshops and technical engagements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development, systems integration or platform engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong communication skills and a proven ability to work closely with customers.
• Experience troubleshooting complex technical issues and delivering end‑to‑end solutions.
• Familiarity with AI concepts such as large language models, prompt engineering and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation.
