Fleet Manager

About the role

Max Transtech Ltd is looking for an experienced, hands-on Fleet Manager to run end-to-end vehicle maintenance, statutory fitness and insurance renewals, and real-time vehicle tracking and schedule adherence for its operations at the Gurugram HUB, Jamalpur. The role keeps the fleet safe, compliant and cost-efficient, with high uptime and reliable SLA delivery for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own preventive maintenance schedules and annual maintenance plans, manage daily breakdowns and repairs, and run tyre management, wheel alignment and OEM servicing cycles
• Keep Fitness Certificates, RC, insurance (OD and TP), permits and PUC valid, track renewals and handle insurance premiums, claims and settlements
• Use telematics/GPS to track departures, checkpoints and arrivals, enforce on-time departures and trigger corrective action for delays, route deviations and idling
• Negotiate contracts with workshops, tyre vendors, fuel providers and telematics suppliers, track maintenance cost per km and keep spare parts inventory lean
• Run pre- and post-trip inspections, investigate accidents, lead root-cause analysis and ensure driver adherence to safety protocols and PPE
• Set driver KPIs, run driver training and supervise the HUB workshop
• Maintain HUB dashboards and provide weekly and monthly fleet performance reports to management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering, Logistics or a related field; MBA preferred
• 5-8 years of fleet management experience in logistics, express or TPL companies
• Proven expertise in fitness certification, insurance renewals, GPS tracking and preventive maintenance
• Strong vendor management and cost-control skills

Required skills

• Excel, fleet MIS, TMS/ERP and BI dashboards
• Vendor negotiation and analytical skills on telematics and maintenance data
• Ability to coach drivers and manage workshop teams
