Fire & Safety Manager

About the role

The Fire & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all fire protection systems and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations across the organization’s facilities. This role involves routine inspections, maintenance supervision, emergency preparedness, and coordination with local authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Ensuring proper functioning, routine checking and maintenance of all fire safety, fighting and detection systems installed in the buildings.
• Supervising maintenance activities related to fire safety works.
• Inspecting buildings and premises for compliance with fire laws, handling complaints, and assisting in arson investigations.
• Issuing work permits, hot‑work permits and other safety permits after thorough area inspections.
• Defining emergency roles, conducting mock drills and ensuring each participant performs assigned tasks correctly.
• Providing regular fire training to security staff, maintenance personnel and the fire team.
• Educating occupants on fire safety awareness and implementing site‑specific SOPs for fire‑related equipment.
• Coordinating fire‑related emergency operations with local firefighting agencies.
• Organising quarterly evacuation drills and annual client‑focused mock drills.
• Following up with government departments (PCB, NKDA, Fire Department, HIDCO, Electrical Inspector) to obtain necessary NOCs.

Required profile

• Knowledge of local fire safety regulations and ability to inspect premises for compliance.
• Experience in issuing work permits, hot‑work permits and other safety permits after area inspection.
• Ability to define emergency roles, conduct mock drills and train security, maintenance and fire teams.
• Familiarity with coordinating emergency operations with local firefighting agencies and relevant government bodies.
