Fire Officer – Facilities & Safety

About the role

The Fire Officer will ensure the safety and reliability of all fire protection systems at our Vagator Beach property. You will lead preventative maintenance, conduct critical safety tests, and support the overall disaster response strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on fire‑related tools, appliances, and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters and operate all shut‑off valves.
• Order, mark, stock parts and maintain inventory and purchase‑order logs.
• Complete life‑safety checklists, including fire‑pump and generator run tests.
• Inspect fire sprinkler valves, alarm systems and assist in disaster‑response protocol development.
• Respond to guest repair requests and support facility‑wide safety initiatives.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching staff.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Minimum 2 years of related maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Preventative maintenance of fire protection equipment.
• Calibration of controls, gauges and meters.
• Operation of power lifts and other mechanical handling tools.
• Fire‑pump and generator testing.
• Inspection of fire sprinkler valves and alarm systems.
• Inventory management and parts ordering.
• Use of computer systems for maintenance logging.
