Financial Crime – Alert Management Analyst

About the role

Barclays is seeking a Financial Crime – Alert Management Analyst to join its Compliance function in Gurugram. The role will support the execution of financial crime risk controls, manage alerts, and provide expert oversight on regulatory and ethical responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial crime alerts generated by automated systems or manual sources, conduct independent reviews and recommend actions.
• Perform customer‑level risk assessments for trigger events such as watch‑list matches, SARs, court orders, PEP exposure and adverse media hits.
• Support sanctions reviews, investigations and true‑match alerts, and maintain risk, process and control documentation.
• Partner with business and Financial Crime teams, act as subject‑matter expert and provide clear guidance on red flags.
• Contribute to monthly KRI reporting and regulatory submissions as required.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of UK AML regulations and financial crime risk frameworks.
• Experience in a financial institution supporting Financial Crime functions in the 1st or 2nd line of defence.
• Strong stakeholder management skills at senior executive level.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and influencing abilities.

Required skills

• Model development and validation experience.
• Familiarity with UK AML regulations, sanctions screening and watch‑list matching.
• Recognition of a financial crime/AML qualification (e.g., ACAMS, ICA) is desirable.
• Good working knowledge of general IT applications.
