Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will own end‑to‑end controllership of the finance and accounting function for a B2B Biomass/Biofuel Marketplace. You will ensure accurate, timely financial reporting to support fast decision‑making and partner with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Manage revenue recognition for marketplace transactions, applying Ind AS 115 / ASC 606 to determine principal vs. agent treatment and subscription revenue schedules.
• Maintain clear separation of revenue streams (subscription, transaction/commission, logistics) and monitor associated margins.
• Track platform unit economics, including GMV, take‑rate analysis, contribution margin per transaction, and customer CAC vs. LTV.
• Oversee receivables, payables, and intermediary cash‑flow management, including credit risk, supplier payment cycles, and reconciliation of order value with payment gateway settlements.
• Ensure regulatory and tax compliance specific to e‑commerce operations, and implement fraud‑risk controls during supplier/buyer onboarding.
• Provide financial due‑diligence inputs, credit checks, and support for onboarding processes.

Required profile

• Strong background in finance and accounting, preferably within marketplace or e‑commerce environments.
• Experience applying revenue recognition standards (Ind AS 115, ASC 606) to complex transaction structures.
• Ability to analyse and present detailed MIS reports and unit‑economics metrics.
• Proven track record of managing working‑capital exposure, credit risk, and cash‑flow optimisation.
