Finance & Project Controller

About the role

ABB is looking for a Finance & Project Controller to join its Motion System Drives Business Division in Bangalore. You will support the division controller and project teams in all financial and commercial matters, ensuring accurate reporting, analysis and compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Division Controller in monthly and quarterly closing of books according to US GAAP, INGAAP and A&RP guidelines.
• Assist the Tender Manager with financial aspects, commercial clauses and ABB Risk Review Guidelines during tendering.
• Analyse product and project revenues, costs and profitability on a monthly basis and provide recommendations to senior management.
• Coordinate with statutory auditors, evaluate internal controls and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and validate data through reconciliations.
• Review project financial performance with the Project Manager, optimise cash‑flow, revenue and gross margin.
• Manage currency risk, bonds, guarantees, tax issues and ensure correct project balance sheet and income statement.
• Identify risks and opportunities, monitor mitigation actions and support claim, price variation and insurance case management.

Required profile

• Experience in project controlling, financial analysis and month‑end closing.
• Knowledge of US GAAP, INGAAP and A&RP accounting guidelines.
• Proven ability to work with auditors and improve internal control processes.
• Strong analytical skills for profitability analysis and forecasting.
