Finance Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead the financial operations and strategy of a fast‑growing EdTech startup focused on early childhood learning. Reporting to senior leadership, the role combines hands‑on financial management with strategic partnership to drive growth, profitability and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute financial strategies that optimise business growth and profitability.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Oversee financial controls, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GST, TDS, FEMA, CST and other regulations.
• Manage statutory and internal audits, tax filings and ensure timely GST submissions.
• Prepare accurate P&L, balance sheet, cash‑flow statements and reconciliations.
• Monitor working capital, receivables, payables and liquidity management.
• Assess financial risks, optimise cost structures and improve operational efficiencies.
• Partner with department heads to provide financial insights, modelling and scenario analysis for business decisions.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team while driving ERP implementation and automation.

Required profile

• 10+ years of finance experience, preferably in high‑growth or technology‑driven organisations.
• Proven track record in financial planning, control, reporting and risk management.
• Strong leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• Ability to work closely with senior leadership and influence strategic decisions.
