Faculty Position – Biology (Ecology/Evolution/Conservation)

About the role

We are seeking faculty members for our new BSc (Hons.) Biology programme at Azim Premji University, Bhopal. The role involves teaching undergraduate courses, designing interdisciplinary curricula, and contributing to the university’s institution‑building activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality lectures and tutorials in Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, and/or Biodiversity Conservation.
• Design, develop, and continuously improve undergraduate course materials and assessment methods.
• Participate in interdisciplinary programme design and implementation of key institutional processes.
• Engage in research activities, secure funding, and mentor students.
• Contribute to university governance through participation in various institutional bodies.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PhD) in Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, Conservation Biology, Zoology, Botany or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years of post‑PhD research and/or teaching experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following: community & population ecology, behavioral ecology, theoretical ecology, spatial ecology, experimental evolution, systematics, restoration ecology, political ecology, or related areas.
• Active research agenda with a strong publication record.
