Factory Manager

About the role

Ghar Soaps is seeking an experienced Factory Manager to lead the setup, scaling and day‑to‑day operations of its Bengaluru manufacturing plant. The role demands strong project management, deep knowledge of quality systems and regulatory compliance, and the ability to manage a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑moving FMCG personal‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end manufacturing processes including batching, saponification, molding and packaging while ensuring strict adherence to SOPs and safety standards.
• Implement Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies to reduce downtime and eliminate waste.
• Lead capital expansion projects, machinery integration and infrastructure development from procurement through commissioning.
• Drive vertical startup initiatives to achieve rapid ramp‑up to full capacity with zero quality or safety issues.
• Ensure 100% compliance with statutory, environmental and factory regulations (BIS, PCB, Inspectorate of Factories, municipal approvals) and act as the primary liaison with local authorities.
• Manage third‑party labour agencies, ensuring legal compliance and harmonious industrial relations.
• Enforce robust Quality Management Systems across raw material receipt, in‑process monitoring and finished‑goods testing.
• Coordinate with central procurement to maintain optimal raw‑material stock levels and control cost of conversion.

Required profile

• 12‑15 years of hands‑on experience in FMCG or personal‑care manufacturing, preferably with D2C brand backend operations.
• Proven track record in plant setup, vertical startup and large‑scale project execution.
• Strong understanding of QMS, regulatory frameworks and contract‑labour management.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience liaising with local government bodies.
