Executive/Assistant Manager – Material Planner (Imports)

About the role

The role leads and coaches the Shared Material Planning and LOG Supplier Management teams in Ahmedabad, ensuring optimal long‑term material plans for imports. It involves negotiating with suppliers, managing escalations, and driving continuous improvement of the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the operative team of "Shared Material Planning" and "LOG Supplier Mgt."
• Set up and optimise long‑term material plans based on market forecasts, consumption and capacity.
• Manage second‑level escalations for supplier delivery issues, providing functional support.
• Own KPIs and targets defined by DC‑MH Central Logistics.
• Drive material projects to optimise the supply chain and improve supplier delivery performance.
• Handle supplier management, annual logistics agreements and evaluations (consignment stock, SA, LT, EDI, TLV, etc.).

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of team‑leading experience.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Trading or Logistics.
• Strong knowledge of MRP II/SAP, MM and lean logistics concepts.
• Experience with Pull Systems such as Kanban and Supermarket.
• Proficient in MS Office and SAP material planning.
• Fluent written and spoken English; German is a plus.
• Open personality, team spirit and ability to work under pressure.
