Executive – Statutory Audit (Assurance) – Gurgaon

About the role

EY is seeking an Executive to join its Assurance team in Gurgaon, focusing on statutory and financial audits for clients in the financial services sector. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse audit engagements, develop technical expertise, and contribute to high‑quality audit deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Perform operational, financial, process and systems audits in line with the audit plan.
• Identify accounting and auditing issues, discuss solutions with the audit in‑charge, and document findings.
• Carry out substantive testing of audit items and maintain detailed work papers.
• Prepare and maintain statutory books of accounts, reconcile receivables and payables, and assist in finalisation of accounts.
• Support senior staff in reviewing financial statements and drafting audit reports, management comment letters and representation letters.
• Present audit reports with clear recommendations to management and suggest improvements to control systems.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with 0‑3 years of experience, preferably in statutory audit assignments.
• Strong knowledge of auditing and accounting standards.
• Ability to prioritise multiple assignments, meet deadlines and work under ambiguity.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a clear and concise presentation style.
• Team‑player attitude, proactive and result‑oriented mindset.
