Executive – Direct Tax

About the role

The Executive – Direct Tax will lead end‑to‑end management of direct tax compliance, ensuring accurate preparation, filing and reconciliation of all statutory tax obligations. This role works closely with finance, audit and tax authorities to support tax planning and maintain compliance records.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file Income Tax Returns, compute taxable income, deferred tax, advance tax and tax provisioning.
• Handle preparation, filing, reconciliation and compliance of TDS/TCS returns, including correction statements and lower deduction certificates.
• Perform monthly reconciliation of TDS with books of accounts, Form 26AS, AIS, TIS, TRACES and General Ledger, resolving mismatches.
• Prepare and file Statement of Financial Transactions (SFT) and other statutory information returns.
• Reconcile tax ledgers, challans, Form 26AS, AIS/TIS and ensure accuracy of tax credits.
• Manage Income Tax notices, scrutiny assessments, reassessment, faceless assessments, rectifications, refunds and departmental correspondence.
• Draft replies to notices, prepare submissions, compile supporting documentation and coordinate with tax authorities.
• Prepare tax workings and schedules for statutory audit, tax audit, internal audit and financial reporting.
• Ensure timely payment and reconciliation of advance tax, TDS/TCS, self‑assessment tax and other direct tax liabilities.
• Support tax planning initiatives and evaluate direct tax implications of business transactions.
• Monitor amendments in Direct Tax laws, CBDT notifications, circulars and judicial pronouncements and implement necessary changes.
• Maintain tax records, compliance trackers, litigation files and MIS reports.
• Utilise SAP for tax accounting, reconciliations, reporting and compliance‑related activities.
