Equipment Maintenance Engineer (Associate)

About the role

The Associate Equipment Maintenance Engineer ensures optimal performance, reliability and safety of pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment. The role involves planning and executing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting equipment qualification and validation activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on upstream and downstream equipment such as solution preparation, fill‑finish lines, sterilization, visual inspection, packaging and microbiology systems.
• Troubleshoot minor technical issues and assist with major equipment problems, collaborating with operations and engineering teams to improve reliability.
• Execute equipment qualification tests (IQ/OQ/PQ) and document results in compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, initiate work orders in the EAMS system and ensure proper calibration of instruments (pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, analytical devices).
• Support installation, commissioning and automation upgrades, working with PLCs, SCADA and control system wiring.

Required profile

• Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical, Instrumentation or Electronics Engineering.
• 2‑5 years of industrial experience in equipment maintenance within a regulated environment.
• Understanding of EHS, GMP and equipment qualification standards.
• Ability to follow SOPs, work permits (LOTO) and compliance procedures.
