Engineering Manager, Products & Platforms

About the role

Redwood Software is seeking an Engineering Manager for its Products & Platforms team to lead a high‑performing group of engineers building the Workload Automation Platform. You will mentor engineers, shape technical strategy, and drive delivery of secure, scalable SaaS solutions for thousands of enterprise customers.

Key responsibilities

• People Leadership & Mentorship – manage, coach, and grow a team of software engineers, conduct performance reviews, and foster an inclusive culture.
• Technical Strategy & Architecture – provide hands‑on guidance, participate in design reviews, and define roadmaps for Java/Spring Boot microservices, ensuring strong architecture, security, and observability.
• Delivery & Platform Ownership – oversee sprint planning, execution, and delivery timelines for resilient core platform features and infrastructure.
• AI Integration – research and apply AI/ML concepts to enhance Managed File Transfer and Workload Automation capabilities such as intelligent routing and predictive maintenance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of people‑management experience.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs with solid OOP and design‑pattern knowledge.
• Extensive experience architecting, deploying, and managing solutions on AWS, including networking, security, and cost‑optimization.
• Proven track record building distributed SaaS systems, micro‑services, and APIs using Kubernetes (EKS) and IaC tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and their practical application to engineering problems.
• Deep understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated platform management.
• Knowledge of enterprise file‑transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, AS2) and secure communication standards.
• Experience with large‑scale enterprise integration, preferably with SAP, and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
