Engineering Associate – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Engineering Associate supports the hotel’s facilities team by responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all building systems operate safely and efficiently. Working with minimal supervision, you will troubleshoot a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests, communicate solutions, and document activities for shift hand‑over.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other building systems.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves, and use lockout/tagout procedures before work.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, requisitioning as needed.
• Assist with surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, and general housekeeping related to engineering tasks.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with vocational/technical training.
• Minimum two years of hotel engineering or maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license and Universal CFC certification.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work on stairs, ladders, and service ramps.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Electrical, mechanical and plumbing troubleshooting.
• Pneumatic/electronic controls and building management systems.
• Hand and power‑tool safety, including lockout/tagout.
• Use of preventive‑maintenance software and energy‑management tools.
